A lot of ladies opted for a low-key look in an array of muted colors and classic black, but I think my favorite looks have been those displayed by the female celebs who were brave enough to rock some serious color. Here are my faves.

Star of Lipstick Jungle Brooke Shields showcased her statuesque physique in a strapless, deep pink gown that looked amazing. The color was so vibrant, it appropriately looked like a shade of lipstick.

Mariska Hargitay from Law and Order: SVU was radiant in a one-shoulder bright yellow dress. and rocking her trademark short do. That color and cut are just perfect. Another winner is Weeds star Mary-Louise Parker in an electric blue dress that I'm totally crushing on. Her soft dark curls and skin tone perfectly complement the look.

Holly Hunter and Laura Dern both turned up in a gorgeous shade of purple with a halter-style long dress and they both looked great. I'm totally impartial though, because I loves me the color purple.
